The 5.56 mm Light Support Weapon (LSW) is designed to provide small expeditionary units with a high volume of accurate support fire without increasing the logistical load. The LSW shares the same ammunition, magazines and operating principals as the rifle or carbine. The high-rate gas system [large gas tube & hydraulic buffer] along with the heavy chrome lined barrel allow for a greater volume of fire without compromising accuracy. The LSW meets or exceeds all applicable military standards including: reliability, accuracy, lethality, maintainability, and safety in all environmental and operational conditions. For those units who must deal with confined space issues, the LSW can also be configured with a collapsing buttstock.
