DEPARTMENT: Product Support Engineering

POSITION TITLE:             Program Manager

PAY GRADE:                     6 ($100,000.00/year – $115,000.00/year)

DEPARTMENT:                Product Support Engineering (500)

REPORTS TO:                   Engineering Manager

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Life cycle management of key internal and customer programs
  • Lead program schedule development, identifying all critical path activities
  • Initial Project Build Plan meetings
  • Lead future project scoping activities (develop generic resource loaded project/program schedule, budget, and risk register)
  • Facilitate team communication meetings and issue regular program updates to program team and senior management
  • Encourage and mentor employees to ensure that the team’s efficiency is maintained at the highest levels
  • Ensure program deliverables are accomplished and documentation is prepared for each program milestone payment
  • Program forecasting – prepare accurate financial and resource forecasts
  • Manage program risks including risk identification and assessment, development of risk mitigation plans
  • As key contact for assigned projects develop and maintain long-term relationships through communication and issue resolution
  • Establish program management standards (structures and templates)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years in large project/program management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with RFP and government contact management an asset
  • Experience with Project Management specific tools (MS Project, etc.)
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent in combined education/work experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to take initiative to gather information and solve problems.
  • Must be able to obtain various levels of government security clearance
  • Must be able to obtain a Restricted Possession & Acquisition License
  • Ability to speak French is an asset

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • In person, with some flexibility to work remotely
  • Domestic, and some international travel may be required depending on the needs of the customer
