Since its inception, Colt Canada has been the source for training courses and materials for our customers. Doctrine, techniques and tools developed in cooperation with the Canadian Department of Defence [DND] have been the backbone for our success in making certain that our product operators and maintainers are armed with the proper skills.

C8 Operator/Instructor Course

Course Outline
This four-day course is designed for firearms instructors to learn the C8 in order to teach tactical or patrol operators to effectively employ their carbines. The course includes a tour of the Colt Canada Facility and requires students to prepare and teach a weapon lecture and run a basic course of fire on our live fire range. Class size is limited to twelve officers.

Basic C8 Armourer Course

Course Outline
The Colt Canada C8A2 Armourer's course is a unique four-day course that is designed for officers who are responsible for weapon maintenance, inspection, or evaluation. Class size is typically limited to twelve officers.

  • Associated Equipment Disassembly, Inspection, Adjustment & Repair

C8 Operator/Instructor & Police Tactical Rifle Marksmanship Course [PTRM]

Colt Canada and MilCun continue to team together to offer you a unique opportunity to train instructors and tactical officers in weapon handling skills and marksmanship. The course focuses on the Colt Canada Carbines and the practical skills to employ them accurately and reliably in the world of law enforcement.

Location: MilCun Marksmanship Complex

Prerequisites: For C8A2 Operator portion, students will require Colt Canada equipment. If your agency does not have such equipment, let us know and we can make the appropriate equipment available. For the Tactical Marksmanship portion, students must have completed the Operator course for the weapon they intend to use during the course. Each student is required to bring 750 rounds of 5.56x45mm ammunition.

The aim of this course is to develop handling and marksmanship skills with your Colt Canada tactical rifle or carbine. The course includes:

MilCun Tactical Marksmanship Course (3 days)
  • Marksmanship Principles
  • Prone Position Workshop
  • Sitting Position Workshop
  • Kneeling Position Workshop
  • Standing Position Workshop
  • Position Handling, Ready, Grouping
  • Coached Practices:
    - Prone at 100 m
    - Sitting at 75 m
    - Kneeling at 50 m
    - Standing deliberate at 50 m
    - Standing tactical at 25 m
    - Introduction to 200 and 300 m

Course Test: Students will shoot groups in all positions on targets at 25 to 100 m
